August 15, 1945, Noon: A Beginning Announced by the Radio's End

Sixty-five years have passed since Emperor Hirohito's rescript announcing the end of World War II was broadcast via radio. The world has since undergone immense change, and our lives have become unimaginably modern and prosperous compared to that era. Yet, conflicts continue to erupt somewhere in the world, and countless innocent lives are lost. Perhaps we, who have grown too accustomed to peace, should pause occasionally to reflect on our own lives and be grateful for the happiness of living each day without incident. With that in mind, this time we broadcast a selection of new and old message songs that prompt reflection on peace and love.
