Teaming up with Angelina Jolie's art project
The inspiration for these limited edition T-shirts comes from the artwork of children who participated in the "Draw Me To Safety" art project. "Draw Me To Safety" was an art project first launched in June 2014 by Angelina Jolie, UN Special Envoy, at the PSVI Summit (Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict) held in London. It was initiated to raise awareness about what safety means to children living in different circumstances, by utilizing artwork created by children living in the UK and conflict zones.
Children aged 8 to 15 from the UK and War Child's project countries created artwork on the theme, "What makes you feel safe?" Stella McCartney was inspired by the submitted drawings to design limited edition T-shirts for kids and women.
The kids' T-shirts, featuring a bear print, are available for girls and boys. They come in sizes for ages 4 to 8. The women's T-shirt has a charming heart print. The collection will be available from March 16th on the official online store and at select Stella McCartney directly managed stores in the UK.
All profits from these sales will be donated to War Child UK. War Child UK is a charity that works to save the lives of children affected by war in countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Syria, and Congo. The funds will help provide emergency medical care to more children in conflict zones worldwide and rebuild safe lives for children protected from fear and violence.
