The Fondation Louis Vuitton has been established in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris, to serve as a new hub for modern art. Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communication, Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, and Frank Gehry, the architect of the building, attended the opening ceremony prior to the museum's public debut.
Also in attendance to celebrate were LVMH group designers including J.W. Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo, Raf Simons, and Riccardo Tisci, along with film director Sofia Coppola and actress Michelle Williams.
On the day of the ceremony, the museum building was illuminated by lighting designer Hervé Descottes, creating a festive atmosphere. Opera singer Natalie Dessay also graced the occasion by performing Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" accompanied by cellist Henri Demarquette.
After President Hollande's departure, guests were treated to a dinner curated by Jean-Louis Nomico, director of "Le Frank," the restaurant attached to the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
