Burberry Eyewear's Second Collection Arrives


The Trench Collection, Inspired by the Trench Coat



Campaign photos have arrived for the new eyewear collection, "The Trench Collection," featuring British model and actress Cara Delevingne, along with Suki Waterhouse and Malaika Firth, shot by Mario Testino. Designed in Britain and handcrafted in Italy, the Trench Collection embodies Burberry's heritage of craftsmanship and innovation in its designs. Many of the details reflect the brand's iconic trench coat.

The Trench Collection Features Models in Glamorous Style──The campaign photos for the Trench Collection, styled with Burberry trench coats, color-block check blanket ponchos, and cashmere scarves, also draw attention to the styling.

The unveiled Trench Collection is featured as part of Burberry's global campaign, under the direction of Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey.




Expressing the Brand Icon's Details



The collection, comprising three shapes—square, butterfly, and cat-eye—uses acetate with a horn-like finish, inspired by the buttons of the trench coat and the cap of the "My Burberry" fragrance bottle (scheduled for release in Japan in 2015). The semi-transparent temples represent the glass bottle of "My Burberry," and the check details echo the lining of the trench coat.

The Burberry check, adopted since the 1920s as another brand icon, is also featured. In the Trench Collection, square-shaped optical frames made from horn-finish acetate are available, similar to the sunglasses.
