Cotton gabardine and denim. I enjoyed the spring mood, with color and design layered onto Burberry's iconic materials.

Lightweight Collection Pairing Tulle Dresses with Sneakers and Sandals
The Spring/Summer 2015 collection has begun. I'm reporting from the London Collection, Burberry Prorsum, right at the start. A special tent was set up in Kensington Gardens. As I approached the venue, I could see colorful art paintings on the glass roof. Exciting. A feeling that something was about to happen! With a blue, pop invitation in hand, I entered the venue.
The collection opened with a tight-fitting denim peplum jacket paired with a sequined skirt. The denim is the same basic fabric as the cotton gabardine used for the trench coats. With a glimpse of a mouton peplum, it was finished into an exceptionally chic item.
The theme was "The Birds and The Bees." Inside a colorful greenhouse, skirts of tulle and organza swayed, paired with small tops as if birds and bees were flitting about. Floral prints from the 40s also appeared. The typography is modern. All looks were styled with sneakers or flat sandals. The single-color tulle dresses, dyed in gradations, were cinched at the waist with sash belts made of the same pleated material.
The finale featured variations of printed trench coats. Colorful small Boston bags added a touch of lightness. The next day, I visited Burberry's first cosmetic boutique, newly opened in Covent Garden. The blue and Bordeaux nail colors used in the collection were all lined up. The collection was brought to life on the streets, immersing me in the world of Burberry.
