Unraveling Nicolas Ghesquière's Fashion Vision

The "Series 1" campaign, Nicolas Ghesquière's first as the new Women's Artistic Director, featured three renowned photographers: Annie Leibovitz, Juergen Teller, and Bruce Weber. While sharing a vision of "thinking beings," each photographer's unique style was integrated throughout the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection.

The shoots took place on the same day, at the same time, in vastly different locations. Annie Leibovitz captured Charlotte Gainsbourg in New York, Juergen Teller photographed Freja Beha Erichsen at the Scandinavian Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale in Venice, and Bruce Weber shot Rila Fukushima, Jean Campbell, and Kirsten Liegmann in Miami. The result is a hybrid trilogy, structured like a matryoshka doll, where each image expands infinitely.

This exhibition looks back at Nicolas Ghesquière's first collection for Louis Vuitton, the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, and the creative process behind it. A related teaser video is currently available on the Louis Vuitton official website and on the multi-vision screens at Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

Nicolas Ghesquière commented, "This was a way for me to bring together artistic worlds that I feel a connection to. I wanted to weave stories that had never been seen before through the eyes of three photographers I deeply admire."
