Featuring Archive Prints from a Century Ago

Acne Studios has previously released interior lines with Liberty. For this new collaboration, Creative Director Jonny Johansson and his team began by researching Liberty's historical archives. They unearthed archive prints from a century ago, dating between 1880 and 1910.

To highlight Liberty's distinctive presence and create a deliberate strong contrast, the team's three members each selected their favorite prints, including paisleys and textiles that blend early Japanese motifs with Art Nouveau. These were combined with Acne Studios' classic leather pieces, resulting in jackets and dresses adorned with "LA" embroidered in Swarovski crystals on the back.

"Liberty prints hold a deep personal significance for me, as I used them as inspiration material when I first became a designer," commented Jonny Johansson. "I find great appeal in delving into the archives of design history and merging them with our own worldview," he added, suggesting this is a collection he is truly proud of.
