A Unique World Emerges with Tape and Lamps
Diesel collaborates with artists from Japan and abroad on various projects. This time, the focus is on Kouichi Okamoto, an artist who transcends the boundaries of art, music, and design in his free creative practice.
Kouichi Okamoto began releasing music on the Dutch techno label "X-Trax" in 1997. In 2006, he established Kyoei Design. Since then, he has been energetically active across genres, holding solo exhibitions in Japan, participating in designboom mart in New York, and exhibiting works and performing live at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Currently, Kyoei Design products are sold in design shops and museums in over 30 countries worldwide, making him a notable figure with significant achievements both in Japan and internationally.
At the pop-up store, held at Center Park/The Stage #2 on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, an impactful and original world is created using his signature works, "Liquid Tape Cutter Work" and "Liquid Lamp," which have garnered high acclaim internationally. Visitors can experience a new form of spatial installation where art and fashion converge.
Additionally, the venue will feature Isetan-exclusive denim pants and dresses from the Diesel Spring/Summer 2014 collection, as well as products designed by Kouichi Okamoto.
