Geraldine Chaplin as Gabrielle Chanel
Last May, Karl Lagerfeld presented the short film "Once Upon a Time," recreating the youthful days of Gabrielle Chanel in Deauville. The follow-up, "The Return," looks back at the time she reopened her couture house in 1954.
For this shoot, Gabrielle Chanel's salon and atelier on Rue Cambon were recreated in the suburbs of Paris. Geraldine Chaplin was cast as Gabrielle Chanel, alongside a stellar cast befitting the revival of 1954 Chanel, including Rupert Everett, Ana Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle, Kati Nescher, Vincent Darré, and Sam McKnight.
"The Return," by current Artistic Director Karl Lagerfeld, is a tribute to the House's founder, Gabrielle Chanel. We invite you to experience her passion for design, her creative brilliance, and the glamorous, elegant style of the era.
