Terry Richardson Himself Appears as the Subject

The photographer chosen for this campaign is Terry Richardson, son of the renowned 1970s fashion photographer Bob Richardson. He has previously helmed advertising campaigns for brands such as Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, and Yves Saint Laurent, and his "Global Warming Ready" campaign for Diesel earned him a Silver Lion at the 2007 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in the print category.

The Fall 2013 accessories campaign interprets the Rockstud "Rouge" and Rockstud "Noir" capsule collections through Terry Richardson's distinctive style. Richardson himself appears as the subject of the photographs. The art direction was once again handled by REM, an Italian art direction agency that has collaborated with Valentino since the Spring/Summer 2009 campaign. The shoot took place at Backspace Studio in Rome.

Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli commented on the campaign: "We are very pleased to be working with Terry Richardson for the Valentino Fall 2013 campaign. The Rockstud "Rouge" and Rockstud "Noir" capsule collections are expressed sensually and elegantly as accessories with a captivating allure that evokes desire."

Terry Richardson, who has stirred up the art world with his impactful photography and enjoys global popularity as a fashion photographer, collaborates with Valentino. This campaign, launching mid-May 2013, is set to roll out in the United States, Italy, Russia, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, and China, so be sure to keep an eye out.
