Conceptual Ingenuity Expressing Precise, Capricious Sensibility



Bottega Veneta's Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection, which focuses on silhouettes created by meticulousness and carefully adjusted proportions.Fall/Winter 2012-13 CollectionSharp, defined lines are long and characteristic of fully enveloping the body. The men's collection exudes an atmosphere that is both provocative and enigmatic, while the women's collection expresses sensibility through strength and sophistication. The newly developed ad campaign targets these men's and women's collections.

Bottega Veneta has consistently created visually compelling campaigns through collaborations with outstanding artists, including Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, and Annie Leibovitz. This time, they have partnered with Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf, a recipient of numerous awards, including a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Olaf, who currently works on both fine art and commercial projects, possesses a unique sensibility honed in the world of journalism, which informs his captivating visuals that blend formal dignity with psychological poignancy. Through his precisely stylized visual expressions, one can perceive the deeply hidden emotions and psychological states of humanity.

Camera Captures the World-Renowned Photographer's Set



Bottega Veneta's Creative Director, Tomas Maier, was drawn to Olaf's formal precision and conceptual ingenuity. "Olaf's perspective is both formal and psychological, creating a complex relationship between the superficial and the meaningful," Maier explains. "He has masterfully captured the precise, capricious sensibility of this collection, enriching the campaign by imbuing the images with an unexpected narrative." The ad visuals will be released worldwide starting in August.

We eagerly anticipate the unveiled visuals, and naturally, our curiosity extends to the production process. Ahead of the ad campaign's launch, a documentary video capturing the photo shoot will be released on the brand's official global website starting July 24 (Tuesday). For this occasion, OPENERS has been granted the exclusive privilege of a先行公開 (advance preview) in Japan. Through the screen, we can witness the creative moments born on set with the world-renowned photographer Erwin Olaf, experiencing the dynamic power of this stimulating collaboration and the brand's ingenuity.
