Over 400 Guests Attended the Opening Event
To celebrate the opening of its flagship store at Tokyu Plaza Ginza, Bally is holding its first-ever archival exhibition at the Ginza store's 2nd floor until Sunday, May 8th.
Titled "Bally Untold - Part 1: 1851-1951," the exhibition features 100 pairs of shoes from Bally's Swiss archives, guiding visitors on a journey through the brand's century-long history. The exhibition is divided into five spaces: "Cocoon (1851-1900)," "Bloom (1900-1920)," "Freedom (1920-1930)," "Decadence (1930-1940)," and "Defiance (1940-1951)," with each theme representing a decade of history and transformation.
Beginning with the "Cocoon (1851-1900)" era, when satin evening shoes adorned with abundant embroidery were designed for women bound by corsets and ruffles in the late 19th century, the exhibition moves through the "Bloom (1900-1920)" era of bold and vibrant silk designs suited for elegant 20th-century fashion, the colorful and dynamic "Freedom (1920-1930)" era, the return to glamorous styles in the "Decadence (1930-1940)" era, and finally, the "Defiance (1940-1951)" era, which saw the resurgence of post-war elegance and the flourishing of haute couture. Each shoe embodies its respective era, portraying the image of a contemporary woman constantly evolving towards the present.
Additionally, the "Gentleman's Corner" introduces the new made-to-order service, "Bally 1851," allowing customers to order their own unique piece.
The opening event, held prior to the store's launch, was attended by over 400 distinguished guests, including Bally's Design Director Pablo Coppola, actress Freida Pinto (known for her role as Latika in "Slumdog Millionaire"), Luke Evans, supermodel Linda Evangelista, actor Tadanobu Asano, Sumire, model Licht, and Emi Kuroda, who enjoyed a dinner.
"Bally Untold - Part 1: 1851-1951" is being held on the 2nd floor of the Bally Ginza store until Sunday, May 8th.
