60 Years Since Its Debut: Exploring the Enduring Charm

The short film comprises four stories, capturing the Parisian lifestyle. As Gabrielle Chanel, the creator of the bi-color shoe, said, "Beige and black go with everything, from morning to lunch, to cocktail parties." The film fully expresses the appeal of the bi-color shoe, which perfectly complements various scenes and outfits.

Born in 1957 from the hands of Mademoiselle Chanel, the bi-color slingback shoe, which already had the little black dress, tweed suit, and quilted bag as staples, has been loved for 60 years, transcending time. The innovative beige and black bi-color design, which overturned the conventional wisdom of shoes being made in a single color to match the outfit, immediately became a sensation. Dubbed "the new Cinderella's glass slipper," it captivated actresses of the era, including Catherine Deneuve, Romy Schneider, Brigitte Bardot, Jane Fonda, and Jeanne Moreau.

This shoe, combining timeless elegance, comfort, and modernity, continues to be passed down by Karl Lagerfeld and is favored by fashion icons of various generations, such as Tilda Swinton, Alexa Chung, and Lily-Rose Depp. Nearly 60 years after its debut, it remains an elegant choice, indispensable for the sophisticated woman's feet.

In 2015, a new model featuring a distinctive square heel, reinterpreting the bi-color shoe in a modern way, was introduced. It adorned the feet of all looks at the 2015/16 Autumn/Winter Ready-to-Wear show, from slim-cut leather pants and three-piece suits to evening wear.
