A new collection, “MINOTATAUR INST. FOR ESTNATION (M4E),” a collaboration between ESTNATION and MINOTAUR INST., is launching. The first release, featuring knits and shirts made from Mino washi paper with excellent breathability and moisture absorption, has been available since June 14, 2023.

ESTNATION has brought together Eiichi Izumi, the designer of MINOTAUR INST., to launch a new collection: “MINOTATAUR INST. FOR ESTNATION (M4E).”

The first installment of this collaboration fuses traditional Japanese elements with functional materials. Izumi, who splits his time between Japan and overseas, focused on Japan as a way to reconnect.

The crew knit, zip-up shirt, and shorts in this collection are made with stretch yarn derived from Mino washi paper. The porous structure of the paper offers excellent breathability and moisture absorption, providing a smooth, dry feel. Despite being one-third the weight of linen, it possesses a supple yet firm texture, resisting deformation and maintaining a natural appearance.

The design embraces a holistic view of Japanese aesthetics, integrating the unique Japanese sensibility of subtle harmony rather than overt assertion into the logo and ventilation details.
