MINOTAUR INST. has opened its new store, "MINOTAUR INST. KYOTO," in Kyoto on July 1, 2023. The collection features contemporary designs inspired by Japanese aesthetics.

MINOTAUR INST. was born as a collection of Japanese-made apparel that embodies the "comfort for modern life and beyond," infused with a Japanese aesthetic. While incorporating traditional elements, the brand offers unisex apparel with simple, minimalist designs that pursue new functionality and comfort suited to the times. Its distinctive features include sustainable and technical materials, sewing, and meticulous attention to detail.

To commemorate the opening, the new standalone store, "MINOTAUR INST. KYOTO," will release a limited edition samue, the "KURO ZONE JACKET," and special incense.

The "KURO ZONE JACKET" is a collaboration with Ryōsōin in Kyoto, designed as modern samue for seamless transitions from zazen meditation to daily tasks. This Japanese-modern jacket, made from a fabric with a traditional feel yet offering light stretch, wrinkle resistance, and quick-drying, washable functionality, is available in two sizes for 49,500 yen.

The special incense is blended with powdered elements of Ryōsōin's four seasons and can also be used as a timer for zazen meditation. Each Ryōsōin seasonal incense stick burns for 25 minutes.
