Introducing Weston Vintage, Focusing on Sustainability

J.M. WESTON has launched a new project, "Weston Vintage," to further strengthen sustainability in fashion. To commemorate the launch, a presentation was held during the Autumn/Winter 2020 Men's Collection, unveiling the brand's first "Weston Vintage" collection focused on sustainability.

Unwanted Pairs Reborn Through High Craftsmanship: One-of-a-Kind Vintage

With the desire for customers to cherish and wear their shoes for a long time, J.M. Weston has established a repair workshop at its Limoges factory, where approximately 10,000 pairs of shoes are repaired and restored annually.

The new "Weston Vintage" project involves collecting used J.M. Weston shoes, repairing and restoring them at the Limoges workshop, and then selling them as part of the Weston Vintage collection.

These reborn, one-of-a-kind "vintage" shoes will be sequentially released at the brand's stores on the Champs-Élysées and Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris.

In Tokyo, a selection of the "Weston Vintage" regular collection, along with some one-of-a-kind shoes reimagined by Artistic Image & Culture Director Olivier Saillard, will be available from mid-April.

Donors of unwanted shoes will receive a voucher.
Before Repair → After Repair
At the collection's presentation, held for the first time since the project's launch at the Rue Saint-Honoré store, 27 unique vintage shoes were showcased. These pieces, based on "Weston Vintage," featured the brand's iconic loafers, derbies, and oxfords, each reimagined by Artistic Image & Culture Director Olivier Saillard.

Reconstructed with unique imagination, they featured designs with scattered paint, large tassels, bold perforations, and tattoo graphics. Intriguingly, the items were given unique names such as "JOHN DES GARCONS," "HEDI SAINT DIOR," and "BARTIN MALANCIAGA."

"This presentation has given me a renewed sense of how we engage with fashion and our responsibility," says Olivier Saillard.

"It's all about acting responsibly, conveying a message, and cherishing sustainability, all without compromising style or timeless elegance."
