Designer Koichi Okamoto Participates in Water Resource Protection Activities, Releasing a T-Shirt | HELLY HANSEN

HELLY HANSEN

Norwegian outdoor wear brand HELLY HANSEN launched the "H2O Project" this past June. This initiative aims to re-evaluate, learn from, and improve the current state of water resources, starting with our oceans. Designer Koichi Okamoto, active both in Japan and internationally, has joined this project, releasing a T-shirt that blends his passion for the sea with his unique sensibility.

Koichi Okamoto, renowned for his distinctive structural beauty and functionality in outdoor gear with his brand "FIELD RECORD," operates on a global standard as a product designer. Known for his unique approach, he has contributed artwork as part of the "H2O PROJECT" to protect water resources.
The back print, which appears abstract at first glance, is created by exposing litmus paper to water collected from oceans worldwide. The vibrancy of the color indicates the degree of water pollution. The T-shirt body is made from recycled polyester derived from ocean plastic waste. Additionally, it features Polygiene® treatment for antibacterial and odor-control properties, utilizing natural silver ions to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria. The relaxed silhouette and moderate stretch ensure a comfortable fit.
