Tweed Run Tokyo 2014 Set for October 19!
In line with the concept of London's "The Tweed Run," the dress code requires wearing items made of tweed, such as jackets, trousers, vests, and hats.—Last October, "Tweed Run TOKYO" was held for the second time in Tokyo and the first time in Nagoya. This year, "Tweed Run Tokyo 2014" will take place on Sunday, October 19, during "Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2015 S/S." The Five Appeals of Tweed Run TOKYO
"The Tweed Run" began in London, the home of tweed, in 2009. This event, where participants stylishly wear tweed and enjoy cycling through the city, is held independently in various countries worldwide, including New York, Florence (during PITTI UOMO), Victoria (Canada), and Sydney.
① Promoting proper cycling methods and etiquette.
② Encouraging cyclists to comply with traffic rules.
③ Presenting Tokyo as a city where cycling is enjoyable, both domestically and internationally.
④ Proposing stylish cycling as a way to further enjoy riding.
⑤ Establishing it as a genre of fashion and revitalizing the fashion industry.
These are the five appeals.

Tweed Run TOKYO's route winds through Tokyo's fashion, culture, and art districts, promoting safe cycling and the joy of urban riding. It positions cycling as a fashion scene, expanding the new possibilities of "cycling x fashion."
Tweed Run TOKYO 2014 Event Outline
Date and Time: Sunday, October 19
*In case of inclement weather, cycling will be canceled, and alternative plans will be prepared.
Location: Within Tokyo
Participation Fee: ¥5,000 (tentative)
Includes an original tweed armband, pant strap, and spoke cards for the event; participation in the afternoon tea party (with light refreshments).
Eligibility: 20 years or older (submit proof of identity upon entry), regularly cycles (proficient in urban riding), and participates with a bicycle that has not been illegally modified.
