Fashionable T-shirts and London Performances

Keiko Toda (hereinafter, Toda)My 60th Anniversary Year is drawing to a close, isn't it? (Laughs) This time, the new BG Brand release is a collaboration with the stage play "Niji no Kakera," which was performed in May.

Go Ueki (hereinafter, Ueki)That's right. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it, but I've heard it turned out to be a wonderful showcase.

TodaIt felt like we really conquered it! (Laughs)

UekiAnd this time, although it's a collaboration, I wanted to create something stylish that could be worn as everyday wear, not just a staff T-shirt. First, the colors are black and sand beige.

TodaBlack is a classic and calming, but this sand beige is lovely, isn't it? It's not quite beige, not quite gray, but a color that makes the skin look beautiful.

UekiStrangely enough, it goes well with white, and even those who don't usually suit white can wear this color. It comes in three sizes: S, M, and L.

TodaFor me, the S size has shoulders that fall a bit. It feels just right to wear it loosely.

UekiSince it's an Anniversary, I included a photo of you, Keiko-san.

TodaI asked for it to be simple and small. (Laughs)

UekiNormally, photo series are printed large, but this time, at your request, we made the frame small, giving it a new feel. It has a chic, adult rock vibe, and I think the texture has changed. It feels like it paid off, and I learned something new.

TodaI liked that you couldn't tell whose photo it was unless someone told you. (Laughs)

UekiThere's a box mask over the eyes, and the stage title "NIJI NO KAKERA" is placed there.

TodaEven though you didn't see the play, Go, it strangely fits the stage concept. This time, it's me, Judy Garland, and Judy Silverman, all rolled into one! It's a transformation, or rather, it's unclear who it is. It really captures the feeling of 'Who am I?!'

UekiI'm glad to hear that. The photo print is also in an earth tone with gray, and I added an embroidery of "Niji" (rainbow) on the left sleeve. The motif is cute, but we deliberately used monotone colors here.

TodaNormally, you'd make a rainbow colorful, right? But this time, we made it with a subtle yet deliberate touch.

UekiBG Brand is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, and combining that with your 60th Anniversary, we've been able to do a lot of things from last year to this year. We released LINE stickers, T-shirts, windbreakers, knit caps, and now these "Niji no Kakera" collaboration T-shirts. They go well with any item.

TodaIndeed. I don't have to worry about it. (Laughs) I hope many people will wear them this summer.

TodaNow then, Go, you have a major performance coming up this summer, don't you?

UekiThat's right. After three years of "WASABEATS," which I composed, directed, and performed in, we took the show to Hong Kong, and it was a big production. This time, we decided to make it more compact. The content, "BREAK FREE," created to be taken overseas and also enjoyed in Japan, has been confirmed for a long run in August at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in London.

TodaCongratulations!! That's a huge achievement. I saw "BREAK FREE" in Asakusa, and I hope you'll brush it up even further and amaze the world with the universal language of dance.

UekiYes! I'll strive to reach new heights.

TodaThe story is good too. After all, it's incredibly satisfying to see a police officer, who seems unlikely to dance, suddenly dancing brilliantly at the end.

UekiYes! To achieve that, I considered the casting carefully, thinking about who could deliver those surprising power moves.

TodaIt's the contrast, isn't it? And it makes you happy!! I'm looking forward to it. I hope I can go to London. (Laughs)
