A Modern Update on a 90s Model

The EXP in the name is short for "experiment." X14, we're told, is derived from a codename used internally for Nike's React technology.

The shoe is based on the Nike Zoom Drive, released in the late 90s. It has been updated for the modern era with a semi-transparent upper. In terms of function, the exposed TPU plate across the midsole and the tapered heel are designed to resemble the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% worn by athletes in the "Breaking2" running event. While it's a lifestyle shoe, it achieves functionality comparable to a running shoe.

Looking back at Nike's history, the shoe features semi-transparent materials adorned with numbers and designs, resulting in a creation that transcends the boundaries of footwear for lifestyle.
