That Familiar Item Reimagined as a Premium Leather Bracelet

JAM HOME MADE, a brand centered on jewelry and helmed by designer Masui, crafts a variety of witty items, including bridal rings, leather goods, and silver accessories, one by one in their Tokyo workshop.

The bracelets introduced here are also highly unique items, characteristic of JAM HOME MADE.





“Originally, these were leather accessories I made for an event called ‘Smile Rock ‘Rockin’ Arrow’,’ curated by Kyoichi Kuwabara of Club King. From the word ‘Smile Rock,’ I thought about creating smiles with a key, even though the spelling is different. Since keys are a classic motif in jewelry and accessories, I wanted to tackle it head-on without avoiding it.”


A locker key, the kind used at sports gyms, is crafted from high-quality leather. It’s a sophisticated adult accessory that retains its original function, allowing you to attach actual keys. The accompanying leather key tag has a hidden detail upon closer inspection...






The other is a leather version of the entry pass bands used at events like music festivals. This, too, embodies JAM HOME MADE's philosophy of redesigning everyday objects into decorative items simply by changing the material. It also incorporates jewelry-like details, such as a black diamond set into the clasp.

“The pieces for this collection are based on the concept of ‘lock’ that exists in our daily lives. We’ve incorporated subtle details like setting a diamond into the giboshi (the clasp part of the bracelet) and paying close attention to the materials and colors, details that you might only notice when they’re pointed out.”

The original items were released this summer. For this collaboration, rumors commissioned exclusive versions of these two pieces. While the original used fine Italian Liscio leather, this collaboration features German shrink leather, favored by luxury fashion houses worldwide. This shift from a firm leather to a soft, pebbled material significantly alters the impression. The color scheme, navy with a blue lining, creates a casual feel. Masui expresses his satisfaction with a finish that offers a different taste than what has been seen from JAM HOME MADE previously.





Matsumoto of rumors, who planned this collaboration, describes designer Masui as: “He is pure, yet witty and possesses a certain allure. Otherwise, he wouldn’t come up with such unique designs. I am extremely pleased that we were able to realize this rumors original JAM HOME MADE.”

Ordinary items are transformed into one-of-a-kind fashion pieces through Masui's hands. There is perhaps no item more fitting for completing a subtly stylish and thoughtful look.
