Announcing the "GYAKUSOU" Fall/Holiday 2012 Collection

NIKE and UNDERCOVER's Jun Takahashi have collaborated to create "GYAKUSOU," designed for running, embodying NIKE's innovation, functionality, and advanced design, alongside a powerful fusion of spirit, body, and nature to foster harmony.The latest men's and women's collection has been announced. It is scheduled to be released sequentially starting Saturday, October 13th.

The Theme for the 5th Collection is "Autumn Monks"

Regarding the latest collection, Jun Takahashi commented, "I drew inspiration from nature, such as the cedar avenues of Nagano that evoke Japanese history and culture, and incorporated unique patterns reminiscent of camouflage created by fallen leaves." He further explained, "I also expressed a connection with nature through subtle color palettes of deep purple, bluish-dark gray, high-saturation blue, crimson, and black – colors that are traditional or natural in Japan. While fully utilizing high-performance running-specific details, we have created garments that fulfill the needs of both men and women."

This season's iconic item is the convertible jacket made with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) material, featuring detachable sleeves to adapt to changing weather conditions. Underarm slits and laser-cut perforations help cool the body. Strategically placed drawstrings, elasticated bindings, thumbholes, and stretch cuffs provide wind protection and prevent garment shifting. Concealed zip pockets, along with underarm stretch gussets, accommodate the runner's natural movements.

The men's collection meticulously caters to male needs. Items like the mix shorts, lightweight jacket, and convertible jacket feature a blend of materials, tailored silhouettes, and bold color accents. The Swift Long Tights, Outlast Knit Cap, Wool Bonded Hoodie, and DRI-FIT short and long-sleeve tops serve as a base layer for the colder season, designed with the male physique in mind to enhance performance. The "Nike Lunar Speed Lite + AP,"Nike Free 3.0 v4similarly support male runners' performance.

In the women's collection, the pleated convertible skirt, paired with long tights, enhances feminine beauty while allowing freedom of movement and covering the runner's body. The convertible jacket with detachable sleeves offers a soft color palette and a slim cut, while the lightweight jacket features gathered sleeves for ease of elbow flexion.

Additionally, the sweat hoodie, and DRI-FIT short and long-sleeve tops are ideal for layering. Furthermore, thoughtful design details such as slightly lustrous mesh panels, body-mapped construction, and pintucks support the technology, evoking a sense of connection with the "Nike Free 3.0 v4" in harmonious colors.
