Pursuit of Ease of Movement and Functionality
"Combat Training" is a general term for training rooted in martial arts such as martial arts, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu. It has recently gained attention from fitness enthusiasts worldwide as a discipline that trains both mind and body intensely.
Since 2014, Reebok has partnered with the global mixed martial arts (MMA) organization UFC®, and has developed specialized apparel tailored to the unique movements of "Combat Training," such as punches and kicks, incorporating feedback from athletes training daily.
For the Fall/Winter 2016 season, two new lines are introduced: "COMBAT TRAINING IN THE GYM" and "COMBAT TRAINING OUT THE GYM."
As the name suggests, "Combat Training in the Gym" is a line of items to be worn during training sessions inside the gym. Pursuing ease of movement and functionality, slits are incorporated to allow for higher leg lifts during kicks. Additionally, the cooling fabric "ACTIVCHILL" is used in areas prone to sweating, such as the back and underarms, to support comfortable training. The lineup is extensive, including rash guards and T-shirts.
"Combat Training Out the Gym" is a line for everyday wear, such as commuting to and from training. Centered around sweat items, it offers stylish designs and a comfortable fit.
Furthermore, to convey the appeal of "Combat Training," Reebok has partnered with the Brazilian jiu-jitsu dojo "CARPE DIEM" and the mixed martial arts gym "BRAVE GYM," led by Kazuyuki Miyata, a former Japanese representative in freestyle wrestling (63kg class) for the Sydney Olympics.
As part of these efforts, starting September 1, 2016, a women-only combat training class, "BRAVE W Combat Training Class supported by Reebok," led by trainers from BRAVE GYM, was launched at CARPE DIEM Hiroo. This class offers a new group fitness program that fuses elements of various "Combat Training" disciplines, including kickboxing and jiu-jitsu.
