A bold style concept that works from dust ‘till dawn.──The 2012 Spring/Summer Preview Men’s Collection features a bold style concept that perfectly transitions from dusk, when the work is done (dusty), to dawn, when the play begins.


Three tastes—dressy, workwear, and biker—were expressed through various garments, either individually or mixed. For example, clean-cut formal blazers with a dressy edge, and shirts adorned with metallic sequins and bow ties, are paired with dirty-finished denim pants or overalls to highlight the season’s theme.


Expressing DIESEL’s unique tradition of “jeans & workwear,” authentic workwear details such as clean lines, proportions, triple stitching, and authentic labeling are incorporated. Biker-inspired details appear in vintage-finished leather and biker jackets, imbuing looks perfect for the party season with DIESEL’s tough rock spirit.

Symbolic items as a hybrid of the three tastes—dressy, workwear, and biker—include worn-in overalls with black leather oyster pockets, formal blazers with lapels made of vintage-processed denim, and smoking pants with workwear suspenders.


The workwear jacket is a faithful remake of a classic DIESEL jacket from 1991, recreated with new colors and proportions.

And of course, denim is the star of the DIESEL collection. From authentic denim workwear to the “Time Exposure” series, featuring super-dirty finishes inspired by the high-contrast tones and aging of old photographs, each piece represents DIESEL’s DNA in its purest form, imbued with a love for denim worn and aged over many years.


The featured colors range from ecru and gray, inspired by “dirt” from the theme of “work hard” and “play hard,” to clean black and white, the classic DIESEL indigo, and seasonal tobacco brown. Materials such as herringbone, dirty indigo denim, mixed leather, and felt are used to further emphasize the clash between “dirty” and “clean.”
