A New Brand by a Former RRL Designer Lands in Japan!
FAHERTY BRAND
FAHERTY BRAND, established in April 2013 by Mike, a designer formerly with Ralph Lauren who worked on RRL among other projects, and his twin brother, is a burgeoning brand. Already available across the US, it has begun to be carried this season in Japan at select shops, including JOURNAL STANDARD.
As surfers themselves, they champion themes of surf, the ocean, and ecology, creating items using organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles.

Rooted in authentic design filtered through a classic surf-inspired American casual lens, Faherty Brand's collections feature soft, nature-harmonizing colors and artful arrangements that maintain a strong presence as clothing. The brand offers unisex items suitable for town wear as well as for outdoor activities like beach trips and mountain excursions, especially as the season progresses.

Items made with the brand's signature indigo dyes. The fabric has a subtle variation in lightness and darkness, as if worn in, offering a comfortable feel from the first wear.

These surf trunks, adorned with a pale, vintage-style floral motif, are also perfect for town wear. The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles.

A cute set featuring a blend of pastel colors and a Native American-inspired pattern with a twist. The silk offers a smooth touch that gently envelops the body.

A long linen shirt with a comfortably lived-in texture. Its breezy impression makes it versatile for coordinating with everything from denim to skirts.

EXCLUSIVE for JOURNAL STANDARD
Plantica × Terrem Collaboration Shoes
Introducing exclusive collaboration shoes for JOURNAL STANDARD! The floral print design is by "Plantica," a unit centered around Takashi Kimura, a master of ikebana and a flower artist. They are a notable presence, pursuing "how to sublimate plants as organic matter into art" while incorporating ikebana traditions, and are active in a wide range of fields from spatial design to advertising. The shoes featuring their designs are by "Terrem," a shoe brand dedicated to pursuing comfortable wearability. The slip-on design, easy to put on and take off, suits Japan's culture where shoes are frequently removed, and is a popular item from Terrem. These slip-ons, born from the collaboration between the two, are an exclusive item for JOURNAL STANDARD. The men's version features a subtle print on the inside, while the women's has a print on the upper, adding a touch of flair to your footwear. These are recommended items for incorporating floral motifs into your spring and summer styling.
