We asked him about the 2013 Fall/Winter collection, his work as a designer, and more.

“Leather is the most important material. It fits the brand image perfectly.”
The thrill of engine speed and the atmosphere of an old gas station—The womenswear collection, themed around "maximum speed," captivated audiences with its fusion of biker wear, denim, and tailored techniques, creating a speedy and dramatic aesthetic.
—Could you tell us about the theme and key styling features of the 2013-14 Fall women’s collection?
The theme for the 2013-14 Fall collection, inspired by gas stations, is "velocity and speed." Through iconic items like biker jackets, denim, and tailored garments, we express "confidence" and "fearlessness."
—What are the theme and key styling points of 2013-14 Fall women’s collection?
Velocity and Speed is the theme to a collection inspired by the idea of a Gas Station.
With the FW13 collection, I wanted to express a confident and irreverent attitude through pieces like iconic motorbike jackets, denim and tailored garments.
—What are the key items and key colors?
The key item is the biker jacket.
Since the inspiration sources are gas stations and bikers, the key colors used are black, white, midnight, and petrol.
—What are the key items and color from this season’s collection?
With the gas-station/biker theme I think biker jacket is a essential item.
Black, white, midnight, petrol are the key colors of the collection.
—Could you tell us about the materials you focused on?
Key materials this season include leather, denim, wool felt, wool flannel, lace, and poplin. Among these, leather is the most important element, and I believe it perfectly matches the image of "Diesel Black Gold."
—Tell us more about the key materials used in this collection?
Leather, denim, wool felt, wool flannel, lace, poplin and cady are the key materials, used in this collection. Leather is an essential component;it fits perfectly with the idea of Diesel Black Gold.
“Clothes that empower the wearer.”
—What is the appeal of designing womenswear?
The most important thing for me is to create while maintaining the "rock chic" image that Diesel Black Gold has built as a brand. I want to continue creating products that wearers can cherish for a long time, while honoring this DNA.
—What is the interesting part in designing a women’s collection?
The priority for me is to build on the rock chic attitude, established by the brand. I want to keep this DNA while I continue to work to create a solid product, that can be treasured by its wearer for a long time.
—What is the image of “DIESEL BLACK GOLD” WOMEN?
Rather than imagining a specific woman, I want to express a stance as a woman. I want to create products that empower women who have their own strong will, allowing them to express their confidence and unique style.
—Who is the “DIESEL BLACK GOLD” woman?
For me it is more the idea of an attitude than one specific woman. I want to create a product, that aims to address people with a strong sense of self who are looking for a confident expression of personal style.
—What message do you want to convey through fashion?
I want to empower the wearer through excellent design, enabling them to express their own confidence. My goal is not limited to each season's collection, but to constantly challenge conventions and rules. I aim to create comprehensive collections with a strong message and direction.
—What is the message you want to deliver through fashion?
I like to empower the wearer thru well thought out designs that express a confident attitude. I want to challenge the codes of the collection each season, and I want to build a comprehensive collection with a strong and directional point of view.
—What is the rewarding aspect of being a designer?
I believe fashion is a personal way of expressing the changing times and societal shifts. That's what makes it exciting.
—What do you love or passionate about your job as a designer?
I think fashion is a very personal expression of the shifting times and changes in our society, and this inspires me.
—We heard you will be directing the men's line in the future. What kind of image do you envision for the men's designs?
I believe it will be a wonderful opportunity to create a connection between the men's and women's collections. It's also a chance to articulate a unique vision for "Diesel Black Gold" and to declare its "uniqueness."
—You will be leading the men’s line in the near feature, What would be the image in your mind for the men’s line?
It's an opportunity for me to work on building cohesive collections across both men and women.

A Psychedelic and Innovative Men's Collection
While the womenswear presented a new dramatic story where strength and sexiness intersect, the menswear proposed a chic yet psychedelic and innovative mode. The inspiration for the collection comes from the cosmic tour of psychedelic rock bands.
Symbolizing "Jimi" Hendrix's Style
This collection, infused with a contemporary rock-chic taste and an eccentric essence, gives a dressy and hedonistic impression.
Key colors range from black, gray, white, navy, mauve, deep purple, lead, military green, antique gold, to faded violet. A vibrant grass green adds a strong accent.
The cosmic tour theme is expressed through paisleys, stars, planets, and UFOs. The influence of these graphics also extends to abstract overall prints, jacquards, embroidery, laser processing, and garment construction.
The Diesel Black Gold 2013-14 men's collection offers innovative items that exude a rock-chic yet dressy sophistication. It constructs an unprecedented style by incorporating mystical motifs reminiscent of the legendary guitarist "Jimi" Hendrix.
