Sukezane“The ‘Dapper Dan’ collection from Gucci reinterprets the archives of Dapper Dan, a shop owner who gained cult popularity in Harlem, New York, and walked hand-in-hand with hip-hop culture. The innovative ‘fashion sampling’ technique is groundbreaking, and I bought this track jacket because I wanted to capture that surprise.

The items are, of course, made in Harlem. I actually visited Dapper Dan’s store in Harlem and ordered one dress shirt and two pairs of pants. This track jacket was actually a sample for custom orders, and the size was perfect when I tried it on. I wanted to make pants from the same material, but I couldn't wait to wear it, so I impulsively asked them to sell it to me!
