Sukezane“This series, featuring the ‘GUCCY’ logo in the SEGA font, pays homage to 1980s video game culture. It’s fascinating how a logo one must have seen countless times while gaming feels so fresh when presented graphically like this.

For those from the gaming generation, it resonates with nostalgia, while for younger generations, it likely evokes a retro-futuristic image. The GUCCY logo, with its gold stars and SEGA font printed on simple casual items, makes a significant impact. The accordion portfolio, inspired by the binding of old books from Florence, feels like a keepsake. It’s sure to become a collector’s item.

Looking back, it feels like we haven’t seen a brand logo boom for quite some time. In the 1980s, we’d line up in front of stores on the monthly release day to get items from brands like PERSONS, SAILORS, and Boat House. While social media like Instagram has reignited this trend, I feel the 80s are the source of inspiration. Alessandro Michele has a great sense for picking up on these elements.”
