Canvas Sneakers of Youth
Canvas sneakers have become an indispensable item for coordinating outfits throughout the year. In the coming season, it feels wonderful to wear sneakers that have been washed and sun-dried on bare feet, and it’s also nice to use a brand-new pair to dress down a chic ensemble. They are a classic, but one that’s hard to give up. Sneakers are also items that can pull off a variety of clever styling tricks. This time, Editor Demon King Tomoki Yusuke The★Best 7’s favorite item is a renowned classic from a certain brand. The reasons for his devotion are truly convincing.

Yusuke“For an authentic canvas sneaker, I like Converse’s ‘Jack Purcell.’ The reason is that it fits well with any style, but it’s not necessarily because the styling is perfectly achieved.
Perhaps ‘because it never looks perfectly balanced, yet somehow comes together’ is the most fitting expression. It doesn’t mean it achieves a perfect balance with every style, but it never looks outlandish. While Converse’s ‘All Star’ blends in nicely, the ‘Jack Purcell’ doesn’t always do that. It’s probably because its design is complete on its own. It has a unique sense of aloofness, as if it doesn’t matter whether it matches or not, and I find that interesting.
In the first place, canvas sneakers themselves can stand out in styling. I often use them to dress down outfits. The models I’ve picked out this time, whether it’s Vans’ Authentic or Pro-Keds, with whom I’ve collaborated, have mostly been worn for such purposes. They are almost the opposite of the luxury brand sneakers I’ve been into lately. Canvas sneakers with a slightly school-uniform-like feel evoke a sense of nostalgia. Their clean appearance makes them highly compatible with spring and summer items, and I recommend them for the coming season.”
