5 People Weave Their Own Gift Stories
“What is a gift that stays in your heart?” If asked this question, what would you answer? Choosing a gift is a time spent gently thinking of the person you are giving it to. Talent Emiri Henmi, model Mia Tazawa, Utrecht owner Hiroshi Eguchi, Landscape Products representative Shinichiro Nakahara, and stylist Ayako Sakuhara each shared their thoughts on “what a gift means to them.”

Emiri Henmi's Gift Story: Talent and Actress
A Gift Chosen with Someone in Mind, to Accompany Their Everyday Life
I tend to choose things that the recipient might not buy for themselves but can use in their daily life, though the direction changes depending on the recipient's personality.

For a child who doesn't seem very interested in clothes, I might deliberately give them an item like a cardigan. Or, I remember my grandparents, who used to come to see my plays often, saying the theater was cold, so I bought them matching blankets… I think about what that person might need at that moment. And it makes me very happy to see them actually using a gift that I spent time carefully choosing.
From this season'sMARGARET HOWELLcollection, the items I would be happy to receive are a white cable-knit sweater and a white shirt with contrasting collar and cuffs. Margaret Howell's unique appeal lies in its high-quality materials, reasonable prices, and timeless designs. Truly good items convey a special feeling to the recipient.

A Gift That Adds a Personal Touch to Someone's Lifestyle
Perhaps because my mother is Australian, I’ve always had family and close friends gather to exchange gifts on Christmas and birthdays since I was little. My parents still exchange gifts with each other, and I think that’s wonderful to see.
When giving a gift, I want to choose something that considers the person's lifestyle and preferences, with a little bit of my own taste added.
If I were to receive a gift,MARGARET HOWELLI'd love the bright red shoulder bag exclusive to the Jinnan shop! It's so cute. I'd want to receive it myself, and I'd also want to give it to others.

Gifts That Are Unexpected and Not Something You'd Buy Yourself Are Fun
From this season'sMARGARET HOWELLcollection, the item I would be happy to receive as a gift is the Pegman-exclusive shoes. I never wear leather shoes, so I wouldn't buy them myself, and I don't really know how to choose leather shoes. But I admire them (laughs). These shoes have a slightly rounded shape, which I find appealingly unrefined.
Margaret Howell stores are very easy places to choose gifts from. Whether it's clothing or lifestyle goods, you can find something here. And nothing is unpleasant. They are my 'go-to' place.

A Gift for an Important Moment for the Recipient
When I choose a gift for someone important, I think about many things at once: what kind of work they do, if they are traveling, what they like to eat. But in the end, I buy it on impulse… (laughs). If I were to receive a gift, it would be a Fair Isle knit. I like knits.
The most memorable gift I've ever received was a keychain, like a good luck charm, given to me at a time that wasn't a special celebration day, but rather “an important moment for you.” I want to become an adult who can give gifts on such important days for others.

Ayako Sakuhara's Gift Story: Stylist
Choosing a Gift is a Special Time Spent Thinking of Someone
For me, the opportunity to ponder and choose gifts is a special time to envision and think about the other person. Sometimes, I have to make a decision in the midst of a busy schedule, but even then, I trust my intuition when I encounter an item.
From thisMARGARET HOWELLcollection, the items I would want for Christmas gifts are a blanket or a butter case. For the butter case, I'd love a custom color. Margaret Howell's deep, beautiful colors are wonderful.
