Paula Gerbase's Debut Collection Also Captures Attention

Directed by Lisa Gunning, the film "A Singular Journey" tells the story of a young John Lobb traversing the rugged, windswept coastal paths of Cornwall before finally arriving in London.

In 1851, the then 22-year-old founder, John Lobb, embarked on a journey from his native Cornwall in southwest England to London, carrying only the boots he had crafted himself. The film reflects this pivotal moment in his life. The poem featured in the film was specially written for it by Cornish poet C.P. Curnow, viewed through the lens of an older John Lobb reflecting on his life. The film opens with a map of Cornwall, showing the lands and routes Lobb actually traveled in the 19th century. Many of these locations lend their names to the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection.



John Lobb's Autumn/Winter 2015 collection marks the first for new Artistic Director Paula Gerbase. Inspired by John Lobb's journey towards the future, the new creations feature color palettes that evoke the landscapes and nature of Cornwall.

The items are also named after the places Lobb traveled, including the limited edition ankle boot "FOWEY," named after his birthplace; the lace-up shoe "COMBE," featured in the film; the single-piece leather "COAST"; and the leather sneaker "LEVAH."


With a new Artistic Director at the helm, John Lobb opens a new chapter. The brand's continued evolution, blending traditional craftsmanship with modernity, promises an exciting future.
