Inspiration and Energy Drawn from New York
Chow and Osborne, both born and raised in New York, launched "PUBLIC SCHOOL" in 2008. This duo creates unique and intricate details, influenced by everything from New York's fashion and music to art. Their youthful, free-spirited style brings a new value to American menswear and womenswear, garnering attention as an emerging brand.
The "PUBLIC SCHOOL × TUMI" collection channels the inspiration and energy derived from their hometown, New York, into two sizes of travel cases, a travel satchel, a backpack, a day tote, and a travel kit.
Also noteworthy is that all pieces in this collection feature a rubber tassel, inspired by the keychains and "strings" the duo used to hang on their backpacks during their time at New York's public schools. Inside, a story patch engraved with "PUBLIC SCHOOL × TUMI" is also a detail not to be missed.
Focusing on a Woven Effect Inspired by Architecture
The wheeled luggage, "International Carry-On" and "Medium Trip Packing Case," feature Tumi's exclusive black graphite Tegris®, layered with laser-cut, mesh-like Tegris® to create a woven effect on the exterior. While inspired by the weave of clothing, the idea of layering this onto the main body is rooted in architectural concepts.
This pattern, featured throughout the collection, is also reflected in the bottom of the "Travel Satchel," the hardware and luggage tags of the "Day Bag," and accessories. The day bag and "Travel Kit" combine nylon and leather, while the "Tote," which Chow and Osborne call the "quintessential bag," is crafted from leather and suede.
The Third Release of the Japan-Limited "TUMI x SOPHNET." Collection
The third "TUMI x SOPHNET." collection expands its range of styles with a blue-based camouflage design. The lineup, themed around travel, includes hard cases from the Tegra-Lite collection, making its debut in this collaboration, as well as slings ideal for daily use, covering travel, business, and accessories.
Pop-up events will be held at Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Building, 5th floor, Travel section from October 7 (Wed) to November 3 (Tue), and at Iwataya Main Building, 5th floor, Men's General Goods section in Fukuoka City from September 30 (Wed) to October 20 (Tue).
