The Charm of Sweatshirts Through Unique Layering
──What was the theme/concept for the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection?
We deliberately haven't set a specific theme for the season. With this new brand, we aim to propose well-crafted basic wear, reinterpreted to serve as a bridge between sports, street, and mode.
In line with this, we've focused on Japan's inherent uncompromising quality, placing emphasis on material selection and choosing our sewing factories. We pursue a quality that is second to none, even among the world's renowned fashion houses.
──What were the key points you focused on for this season's lookbook shoot, and what should people pay attention to?
While we're a brand that doesn't incorporate grand concepts or trends, we've extensively used angora-blend long-length turtlenecks to express layering, especially in sweatshirt outfits that can easily become too simple. We've also paid attention to achieving a balance that feels loose-fitting yet not overly street.
──How does this season differ from last year's Autumn/Winter collection in terms of styling, silhouette, and color?
This is our first season.
Unique Material Texture Achieved with Japan's Sole Processing Machine
──What is the key look (outfit) for this season?
The key look features sweatshirt setups paired with items like turtlenecks.
──What are the key items and key colors?
As we emphasize layering, the key items are the innerwear from our long-length series.
The key color is gray.
──What 'materials' did you focus on this season?
Both the jersey and fleece fabrics were custom-made. Furthermore, we applied an ultra-fine brushed finish using a processing machine, unique in Japan and favored by certain maison brands, to create a suede-like, smooth texture, which is the charm of this brand's materials.
──Please express 'this season's mood' in one word.
Mixed Genre
──What inspires the brand's (designer's) creativity?
Travel, music, friends.
