First Trunk Show in Japan Held at a Shibuya Select Shop


Based on the concept of “items that evolve while respecting classic designs to suit modern lifestyles,” J. Panther Luggage Co., a New York-based bag and leather goods brand, was born with the aim of creating bags that can be cherished for a lifetime. The brand will hold its first-ever trunk show in Japan at the select shop “rdv o globe” in Shibuya, Tokyo, starting August 3rd (Monday).

J. Panther Luggage Co. bags are characterized by designs that accommodate various modern needs, while employing traditional American bag-making techniques from before the 1960s. This trunk show marks the first time the full lineup of bags, born from the integration of versatility to meet user needs and the traditional skills of American leather artisans, will be available in Japan.

Focus on the Fusion of Functionality and Quality


Designed in Brooklyn, NY, and subjected to rigorous functionality testing, the bags are manufactured in workshops located in New England and New York, the heartland of America's leather industry, which has produced high-end luxury bags for many years.

The brand's signature "The RucTote" was developed with a focus on ease of use, even when cycling. It's popular for its simple design with calculated functionality, offering three ways to carry: over the shoulder, by hand, or as a backpack.

The water-resistant leather is finished at the Horween tannery in the United States.

Meeting the Diverse Needs of Modern Lifestyles


The exterior of the bags is made from 21-ounce canvas fabric from Scotland, originally used for military purposes. It is wax-treated to withstand use in adverse weather conditions and demanding situations.

The interior also receives special attention. The lining of "The Courier Ruc Case," a three-way work bag, is made from Alcantara, an Italian fabric also used in the interiors of Formula 1 cars. This tough material, while possessing a luxurious, suede-like softness, develops a unique character with use, much like the exterior.
