At the Forefront of Fashion, a Trendsetter

Among the brands currently showing collections in Paris, Valentino exudes the most momentum. Sensing the next trends in both high fashion and streetwear, their garments, crafted with sartorial expertise, are as stimulating as they are beautiful, usable as everyday wear.

This season, in particular, features many luxurious items made from classic materials like herringbone tweed and camel hair, with three shops newly opening simultaneously to offer them. Limited edition items will also be available at Hankyu Men's Tokyo, Hankyu Men's Osaka, and Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building, so a visit is highly recommended.

The Hankyu Men's Tokyo boutique features terrazzo stone wall panels and Palladiana marble flooring. This design is by architect David Chipperfield, who has previously been involved in the design of Valentino boutiques. The concept of continuity and unity is reflected in the store's design, which is simple yet creates a luxurious atmosphere. It is a fitting space for a globally acclaimed fashion brand.

Limited Colorway of Popular Sneakers

The 'Rockrunner' sneakers debuted in the 13SS collection and have been a bestseller ever since. The limited edition model features an orange and black camouflage pattern, with an outsole inspired by pyramid studs.

Native Pattern Coat

This coat, with its geometric pattern in shades of navy, camel, and purple, evokes a native tone. The surface has a brushed texture reminiscent of knitwear, adding a gentle touch to any outfit. The lining is made of luxurious cashmere for an exquisite feel.

Marine Border Knit

This knit combines a dense wool weave on the front and sleeves, achieving both a soft feel and a voluminous structure. The shoulder metal buttons are a distinctive feature. The back incorporates a sailing ship motif in the knit, making it a recommended adult marine item for city wear.

Bag

The navy clutch is a vertically oriented bag that folds over and is secured with a large zipper, allowing its shape to adapt to the amount of contents. Made from supple leather with a rich navy hue, the interior is a sophisticated Bordeaux color.

Jumpsuit

This herringbone jumpsuit features a shirt-like upper body with a yoke at the back, and a distinct contrast in the lower half, which is divided at the belt loop position, despite being made of the same material. The creases are stitched, enhancing its dressy appearance.

Camouflage Jacket

This jacket features a classic, wide-pitch herringbone pattern with an applied camouflage design. The structured shoulders emphasize a masculine silhouette. The underside of the lapel and the front are accented with grey suiting fabric, adding a unique detail.

Stylist Tomoki Yuima Discusses This Season's Valentino

Stylist Tomoki Yuima has a deep appreciation for this season's Valentino. We spoke with him about the brand's appeal, the characteristics of this season's collection, and the items he is particularly drawn to.

"Valentino's greatest characteristic is its origin as an haute couture maison, bringing the concept of haute couture directly into its ready-to-wear. For menswear, it was surprising to see haute couture coats presented at the very first show. The presentation, styling them with ordinary jeans and sweaters, was also very chic. Ready-to-wear that extensively incorporates couture techniques and craftsmanship is truly new and interesting. It's a brand where the clothing itself has power. The advertising visuals are also impactful and captivating."

Nordic Sweater

"Last summer, I took a vacation and traveled to Iceland. I found myself looking at the display in a Nordic sweater shop right in front of the hotel every day, and eventually, I really wanted one. I bought a special piece from a mountain of variations. Since then, Nordic sweaters have been a quiet personal obsession. This one has a wonderful color and shape. And of course, the material is superb."

Duffle Coat

"For the past few years, every autumn, I've felt the urge to wear a camel wool coat stylishly! However, in my life, I've never felt truly satisfied wearing a camel coat. Especially duffle coats – they've never suited me. Yet, this one fits me surprisingly well. I love the stylish toggles and the slim silhouette."

Open Sneakers

"I've worn white leather sneakers countless times before. While there are various color options, I bought the white x navy combination for now. The collection next season will feature suede types, which I also really want. The thickness of the sole and the wide line (?) create a truly fresh presence. They seem versatile."

W Monk Strap Shoes

"Double monks are a major focus item this autumn. Luxury maisons are releasing them one after another, but Valentino's feature a plain toe with a double monk strap flap layered on top. Personally, I'm drawn to the slightly raised instep form. Pair them with slim pants. I'd recommend a slightly shorter hem length, wouldn't you agree?"

Eyes on Valentino for the Next Season Too

As Yuima-san says, Valentino's appeal in clothing creation lies in 'bringing the concept of haute couture directly into its ready-to-wear.' With a luxurious worldview intact, the collection, designed with a keen sense for the delicate mood of fashion, has also received high praise for next spring and summer, following its presentation this June. The Valentino whirlwind is likely to continue in the fashion world for some time to come.
