The Collection: A Visual Interpretation of Rome, the "Eternal City"

Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli chose their beloved city of Rome as the backdrop for the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter Haute Couture collection.

Among those who came to get an early look at the new creations from this 주목-worthy brand were actresses Rie Miyazawa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tilda Swinton, as well as singer Mika and Sophie Vercruyssen. Popular bloggers such as Bryanboy, Susanna Lau, and Miroslava Duma were also in attendance.

The set design was handled by artist Pietro Ruffo. He offered a modern interpretation of the "Foro Romano," once the heart of ancient Rome, creating a solemn and mysterious atmosphere. Key elements of the show were long silhouette dresses inspired by togas and capes. The smooth, dynamic lines, which skillfully blended the elegant curves of three-dimensional tailoring with the linearity of priestly vestments, were particularly striking.

The city of Rome was also visually expressed through decorative elements and patterns that offered a modern take on complex iconography, such as marble and geometric intarsia. Magnificent trimmings were added to create a style of imposing dignity.
