Leading Designers Share Their Thoughts on the UNITED ARROWS 20th Anniversary T-Shirts
"Japanese Designer T-Shirts" - ATTACHMENT
Designer Kazuyuki Kumagai's intention was a direct graphic representation of UA's (UNITED ARROWS) 20th anniversary.
The number "20" is rendered graphically in ATTACHMENT's signature style. The V-neck design also reflects the brand's image.
"Japanese Designer T-Shirts" - A
Designer Kazushi Sasaki combined a peace symbol with camouflage for the front design.
While many men favor a military aesthetic, the military is also linked to conflict.
The juxtaposition of camouflage, evoking war, with a peace symbol conveys a message: the ability to create, sell, and enjoy clothing exists precisely because the world is at peace. This is the essence of the combination of seemingly opposing elements.
The Union Jack on the back reflects Sasaki's enduring belief in the traditional British style and mindset that has been at the core of UA menswear since its inception.
"Japanese Designer T-Shirts" - MANDO
When designer Mitsumichi Takasu thinks of UA, he perceives a foundation in timeless British tradition, coupled with an innate sense of elegance. These qualities resonate deeply with MANDO's own collections.
This concept is expressed in the T-shirt design, which features the iconic Union Jack not in its traditional tricolor, but in a single hue. The 100% cotton body is garment-dyed, with a textured weave that creates subtle contrast.
"Japanese Designer T-Shirts" - kolor
Designer Junichi Abe felt a sense of unity, like a bundle of arrows, when considering UA.
For this collaboration, he designed a humorous band T-shirt for a fictional rock group called "THE CORPERATIVE SPIRITS," inspired by a famous band, embodying the UA spirit.
It is vital that UA continues to offer such playful, conceptual items alongside a curated selection of global treasures. This breadth of vision is the essence of the UA mindset.
