This shot was taken in early September 2007, on my way to Kyoto. The photo in the car is from a taxi heading to Tokyo Station, and the one outside is me waiting for the Shinkansen on the platform.
My Hawaiian tan from August was still visible, adding to the relaxed mood. I was in Kyoto for an event, but I stayed an extra night to visit my family's graves. Perhaps because I felt a bit like I was returning home, I can see a laid-back vibe radiating from my whole body.
The seersucker jacket is THOM BROWNE, purchased in April at Jeffrey in New York. The shirt is a button-down from CICATA.
The chinos are Dior Homme, and the sneakers are MARC JACOBS. The tie is from J.CREW, bought just last July in New York. I impulsively bought it because I liked the patchwork, but it's surprisingly hard to coordinate with other items, so this was the first time I wore it. Patchwork can easily look comical... it's tricky. But maybe it's okay for a relaxed day? Ultimately, I haven't worn this tie since that day.
