HANCOCK Pattern Order Event
HANCOCK, an outerwear brand based in Scotland, UK, launched this autumn/winter season. A pattern order event for their rubberized outerwear will be held at UNITED ARROWS Harajuku Main Store Men's Building from Friday, November 23rd to Sunday, December 2nd. Furthermore, an event will be held featuring Daniel Dungo, Hancock's owner and craftsman, demonstrating the coat-making process.

Hancock revives the technology invented by Thomas Hancock, known as the "father of rubber," with a slim, structured silhouette, meticulously handcrafted one by one in their Scottish workshop. The collection fuses Britain's groundbreaking materials with the steadfast craftsmanship of Savile Row artisans.

At the upcoming order event at UNITED ARROWS Harajuku Main Store Men's Building, customers can select from 10 styles, including three designed by Timothy Everest, from the Spring/Summer 2013 full collection. Choose from 15 colors of rubberized fabric, with options to adjust jacket length and sleeve length. Orders are limited to 60 pieces.
Customers who place an order during this period will receive a complimentary bag made from the same rubberized fabric, featuring embossed initials. This practical bag, in a color matching the outerwear, is also capable of storing the coat itself.
Thomas Hancock(1786-1865)
Born in Britain in 1786. In the 1820s, he was the world's first inventor to develop the use of rubber for clothing. He later established the vulcanization process, the origin of modern rubber manufacturing, and is known as the "father of the rubber industry" in Britain. He proposed the use of rubber in undergarments, socks, and cuffs, and also created rain gear utilizing rubber processing technology. Today, rubber products used everywhere owe their existence to Thomas Hancock's inventions.
