The Never-Worn Crocodile "Morandi"
A Classic Design from His Italian Aspiration Era—These "Morandi" crocodile shoes embody the authentic Italian style of the early 1980s.
They represent my ideal of what Italian shoes should be, and I bought them in Italy. However, fashion trends shifted, and they never quite fit. I often wear Gucci's crocodile bit loafers, but these have remained unworn.
Despite being crocodile, they cost around 80,000 yen at the time. Exotic leathers like these are rare today.
A Coaster Aficionado!
The greatest sense of liberation I feel now is when I'm free from stress. Forgetting about work is ideal, but with internet access everywhere, I inevitably end up working... (laughs). In the past, I'd feel liberated simply gazing at the sea alone. Nowadays, the most enjoyable moments are when work-related ideas pop into my head.
Last time, I mentioned that the Tokyo Skytree is impressively tall, but I'm actually not very fond of heights. However, I absolutely love roller coasters.
Around the age of 35, when I traveled all over the United States for work, I took the opportunity to ride roller coasters across the country. The scariest one was a wooden-frame roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. I believe it was called "Xcelerator" back then.
My body lifted right out of the seat, and my glasses flew off onto the floor. That was terrifying. I hear there are some incredible roller coasters in China too.
