Nespresso, a coffee brand dedicated to delivering a "blissful coffee experience," has announced its new coffee system, "VERTUO." The coffee maker and 25 varieties of capsule coffee were launched on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

Nespresso, a long-standing pioneer in capsule coffee since its launch in the Japanese market in 1986, is now introducing a "new way to enjoy coffee and crema" with its new coffee system, "VERTUO."

The "new way" is defined as mixing the unprecedentedly thick and rich crema into the coffee with a spoon, enjoying them together. This "new way" is said to bring out the "VERTUO's" rich aroma and smooth mouthfeel.

The "VERTUO" achieves authentic coffee extraction with a single touch using its innovative "Centrifusion" technology. Unlike traditional high-pressure extraction methods, "Centrifusion" involves rotating the capsule and injecting hot water using centrifugal force, allowing the water to permeate the coffee grounds within the capsule. This steaming process enhances the unique aroma and flavor of each blend.

The barcode printed on the rim of each capsule contains the optimal extraction settings for that specific blend. The "VERTUO" automatically reads these barcodes, enabling anyone to achieve the perfect extraction—including cup size, rotation speed, water volume, temperature, and brewing time—with just the touch of a button.

A diverse selection of 25 capsule varieties is available. Notably, based on research indicating that over 80% of people drink coffee from large mugs at home, the "VERTUO" offers 14 coffee options in mug size or larger. The lineup also includes coffees made from single-origin beans, processed using unique regional methods, as well as coffees designed for enjoyment with milk and decaffeinated options.

To commemorate the launch, a campaign is running until Thursday, April 30th, offering a Vertuo capsule coffee set (12 servings) and a non-sale coffee information sheet to those who purchase the "Vertuo Next" coffee maker. Open the door to a new coffee experience with Vertuo.
