Two Decades That Transformed Lifestyles

Curating furniture and lifestyle goods from around the world through the discerning eye of Sir Terence Conran, THE CONRAN SHOP opened in 1994 as a home furnishing store offering a total approach to interior items designed to enhance the "quality of life"—making every living space comfortable.

From furniture to kitchenware, bath items, stationery, interior accessories, and garden items, the shop offered a space to encounter original, high-quality designs that were both functional and free from stylistic constraints, bringing about a transformation in Japanese lifestyles.

Proposing the Conran Style: Enjoyment Through Free Expression

The theme for the 20th-anniversary celebration, "PLAIN SIMPLE USEFUL," comprises the three keywords that embody Sir Terence Conran's philosophy and have been the cornerstone of THE CONRAN SHOP. This event explores "what constitutes a rich and comfortable life, both for the past 20 years and into the future," presenting installations that translate this vision into tangible living experiences.

The event will feature exhibitions allowing visitors to experience the lifestyle proposed by THE CONRAN SHOP through spatial design. Additionally, the shop will launch permanent items aligned with its philosophy, alongside exclusive 20th-anniversary limited editions. Sir Terence Conran's new book, "PLAIN SIMPLE USEFUL," will also be released.
