Timeless Designs That Seem to Have Always Existed
Common means shared, ordinary, without special status, or conventional. The designs by product designer Yota Kakuda are characterized by carefully refined forms that maximize functionality and practicality for their intended use, deliberately avoiding the pursuit of specific styles or unique decorations.
Combining ease of use with universality that naturally blends into various settings, the brand has established a stable production system while prioritizing design.
The initial series is manufactured by companies that form the backbone of Japanese craftsmanship, including Saikai Toki (ceramics), Toyo Sasaki Glass (glassware), and Tsubame Shinko Kogyo (cutlery), all renowned for their stable production capabilities.
Designer Yota Kakuda commented, "I designed tableware that feels as if it has always existed, for today's era. Its understated presence allows it to seamlessly complement the tableware you already own. It was also designed with the goal of keeping prices down, making it very affordable. Please try holding and using it."
The ideal is tableware that integrates into diverse dining cultures across various countries and regions, becoming cherished through use. The designs, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, possess both practicality and universality. We aim for these to be everyday tableware, unbound by place, people, or time.
