Serafino Zani's Chopping Board

We all want to choose carefully for the items we use every day. Yet, when it comes to a cutting board, its priority often slips down the list. Why not consider the "Chopping Board," which boasts not only functionality but also an object-like presence?

Two Sizes for Different Uses

Serafino Zani is a cookware manufacturer located in the valley of high mountains in Lumezzane, northern Italy. Blessed with abundant water and coal mines, the region has flourished as a center for metal products since the 15th-16th centuries. Thus, traditional techniques are still passed down to this day.

Each "Chopping Board" is meticulously crafted by artisans, featuring an impressive, substantial form created by the luxurious accumulation of wood blocks. Available in two sizes, S and M, using the S size for meat and fish and the M size for vegetables prevents any unwanted odors.

The design was overseen by the master of industrial design, Ettore Sottsass. The back of each product is stamped with "Serafino Zani" and "Ettore Sottsass." Its presence, exuding the aura of an art piece, might make you forget it's a cutting board.
