Marc Newson Achieves Innovative Lightness and
Capacity with Elegant Luggage

Louis Vuitton has released the "Horizon Soft" rolling luggage, made from a knit material woven with the Monogram motif. A key feature is the 3D knit jacquard, crafted from custom yarn, designed by Marc Newson. This innovative outer shell achieves both lightness and high capacity.

The outer shell is made from a technical yarn with elasticity and thermoplastic properties, developed specifically for Louis Vuitton's needs. It is seamlessly knitted using advanced techniques, then water-repellent treated and heat-molded into shape.

Ultrasonic waves are used for cutting and attaching pockets and zippers, simplifying stitching by 95% compared to conventional methods. Instead, tape is heat-bonded, creating an elegant aesthetic.

Lightness and capacity are crucial for travel, and Marc Newson conducted numerous tests during the development process to reduce the main body weight while expanding storage space. The retractable handle is mounted on the exterior of the luggage, further enhancing its durability.

Even the 36-liter luggage weighs just 2.9kg, making it exceptionally easy to handle. The external handle is also designed to fit within international carry-on size restrictions. All these components were custom-designed by Marc Newson, with no off-the-shelf parts used.

The three-digit combination lock system is TSA-approved and can be operated with one hand. This innovative "Horizon Soft," sure to satisfy any traveler, is available at Louis Vuitton stores and on the official website.
