The "Kamikiri Bocho" is made to order, with delivery approximately one month after order placement.

Sakai Uchihamono began production in the Sakai region around the 16th century. During the Edo period, its high quality, born from advanced forging techniques, earned it the seal of "Sakai Kiwami" from the shogunate, leading to its widespread popularity throughout Japan. Today, it continues to be highly regarded as professional kitchen knives used by chefs and boasts an overwhelming market share.

The "Kamikiri Bocho" is a desk accessory that embodies the beauty and dignity of Sakai Uchihamono. Like traditional Japanese knives, the blade shape can be chosen from two types: "Kitsuke" and "Yanagiba." Four finishing options are available: "Standard," "Mirror Finish," "Blackened Finish," and "Ink Flow." Furthermore, a traditional craftsman will hand-sharpen and finish each knife to your custom specifications, including engraving.

Designer Ryosuke Inui, who oversaw the design, recommends the "Kamikiri Bocho" as a "craft piece that combines three traditional Osaka crafts: it is finished by Sakai Uchihamono traditional craftsmen using the same process as Japanese kitchen knives, and features handles made of tin and rosewood, created in collaboration with artisans of Osaka Naniwa tinware and Osaka Karaki Sasimono. With an acrylic stand, it is a premium paper knife that allows you to enjoy the sharpness and beauty of Sakai Uchihamono on your desk. It is considered an auspicious item, as Uchihamono are believed to possess the power to ward off evil and cut open the way forward, and tin is also said to have purifying properties."
