Bringing a Fresh Breeze to Interior Design with Typography

DESIGN LETTERS Lands in Asia for the First Time

Founded in 2009, the Danish brand "DESIGN LETTERS" has created an unprecedented interior design field with typography, making names, letters, and words stand out on walls in homes and offices. These revolutionary items are finally making their debut in Japan. ACTUS will launch products other than the "DESIGN LETTERS + Arne Jacobsen" plates on Thursday, March 14th, and the plates on Friday, April 26th, at the new "ACTUS Umeda Store."

The First Collection: A New Retro-Modern Genre is Born

Design Letters is launching its first collection in collaboration with "e-Types," a popular Danish typography design collective, followed by a second collection featuring the typography of the world-renowned architect Arne Jacobsen. These collections have garnered significant attention in European media, particularly in Denmark, and are now sold in over 400 shops across 12 countries.

e-Types, responsible for the first "DESIGN LETTERS + e-Types" collection, operates under the philosophy of "creating designs that fuse graphics and visuals to establish brand identity." They have earned global acclaim for their work in corporate branding, particularly their strategic approach to typography, which skillfully blends realism and visual impact.

The "DESIGN LETTERS + e-Types" products are design items that can establish a presence as accents or objects in any space, even with a single letter. By arranging letters, they function as stylish signage for buildings or nameplates for residences, embodying a "Simple & Multi" design philosophy that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Wooden 12cm indoor letters are priced at 630 yen, 8cm acrylic outdoor letters at 420 yen, and 15cm acrylic outdoor numbers at 945 yen.

The Second Collection: The Beautiful Letters of Arne Jacobsen

The second collection, "DESIGN LETTERS + Arne Jacobsen," features lettering drawn by the world-renowned Danish architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971). Originally created in 1937 for the internal signage of the Aarhus City Hall in Denmark.

Aarhus City Hall, one of his representative works, continues to attract tourists today. Jacobsen meticulously designed every detail, from the architecture and furniture to the door handles and ashtrays, and his dedication is evident even in the lettering developed at the time. DESIGN LETTERS has now masterfully revived these designs as contemporary products. Cups are priced at 1,890 yen each, and wooden lids at 1,050 yen.
