Poltrona Frau, the quintessential Italian luxury furniture brand, has collaborated with ceramicist and architect Yuki Nara. A limited-edition model will be unveiled, alongside a special exhibition titled 'Born Again,' held at Poltrona Frau stores in Tokyo's Aoyama and Osaka.

Poltrona Frau, an Italian furniture brand with over 110 years of history, has realized its first collaboration with a Japanese artist.

The chosen partner is Yuki Nara, who possesses a dual identity as both a ceramicist and an architect. His signature 'Bone Flower' series expresses the rhythms of ancient life and natural shadows through forms imbued with fiery energy, and is held in collections such as the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.

For this collaboration, Nara designed a dedicated display stand for 'Bone Flower,' which Poltrona Frau then crafted using 'Pelle Frau®,' their signature supremely soft, high-quality leather.

The display stand, inspired by the evolution of nature and the structure of trees, expresses the growth of roots, trunks, branches, and leaves. The folds and shadows of the leather evoke the movement of living organisms, imbuing the piece with a sense of vitality. This collaboration is a fusion of art, design, and craftsmanship, exploring the beauty and richness that permeates everyday life.

Furthermore, a special version titled 'Bone Flower_1/f' created by Nara, fired at approximately 70 degrees Celsius higher than usual, exhibits 1/f fluctuations and the unpredictable changes and movements found in nature, allowing one to feel the latent life within natural materials.

These works will be released sequentially in limited quantities at Poltrona Frau stores in ten cities across seven countries, including Milan, Paris, London, New York, Mumbai, and Shanghai.

Additionally, a special exhibition 'Born Again' will be held at the Tokyo Aoyama store until March 2nd and in Osaka from March 1st to 16th, offering an opportunity to witness firsthand the new beauty born from the integration of art and display stands.

Furthermore, five sets comprising the display stand and Nara's signature 'Bone flower' will be available for purchase. Applications can be made at the stores during the event period or via the website until February 28th, after which purchases will be determined by lottery.
