BUILDING Relocates and Reopens in Shirokanetakanawa
BUILDING, a custom furniture shop in Ebisu, Tokyo, relocated and reopened in Shirokanetakanawa on January 31. To commemorate the occasion, a photography exhibition by Yasuyuki Takagi, "GRIDSCAPE 2015 BUILDING edition," is being held until Sunday, March 1.

Sales Floor Area Doubled
The new BUILDING in Shirokanetakanawa is a renovation of a 6-meter high space that was previously used as a photo studio. The floor area has approximately doubled compared to the former shop in Ebisu.
The shop now offers a wider selection of furniture, including pieces from its original label, "fundamental furniture," and vintage items by Poul Kjærholm, specially gathered for this opening.
Additionally, the shop now carries plants selected by Kaori Nishikawa of the Hiroo plant shop "Plants Planet Garage."
Yosuke Kimura of BUILDING commented on the relocation and renewal: "The area around Shirokanetakanawa Station was our first choice when we decided to open BUILDING four and a half years ago. The station is now surrounded by high-rise condominiums due to redevelopment. However, just a short walk from the paved sidewalks, you can still find local small shopping streets and old factories, creating a unique 'Tokyo-esque' atmosphere where the new and old coexist. After a slight detour through Shirokanedai and Ebisu, we are now opening the third stage of BUILDING in this Shirokanetakanawa area."
22 Works Independently Selected on Display
The renewal opening commemorative photography exhibition "GRIDSCAPE 2015 BUILDING edition" by Yasuyuki Takagi features 22 of his works, which capture the meticulously designed beauty of urban architecture from a unique perspective, further emphasizing its precision and creating a sense of tension and rhythm. These pieces are displayed and sold in acrylic frames.
