Using Vintage Wood Type and Presses

A TWO PIPE PROBLEM LETTERPRESS (commonly known as ATPP) is a letterpress studio primarily focused on wood type prints, led by Stephen Kenny. In addition to graphic work for artist book covers, record covers, and corporate branding, Kenny also releases his own posters and postcards.

Before establishing his studio, Kenny had a successful career as a graphic designer. In 2008, he founded ATPP as a studio for his own artwork and letterpress printing. The works created using vintage wood type and presses from the 1800s and 1900s captivate those with a keen sense for art and fashion, and are exhibited in galleries and museums.

The pop-up shop at the Shibuya store features an extensive lineup, including four types of special order posters by "journal standard Furniture," as well as ATPP's standard posters, and postcards and tote bags not usually available.

Workshop to be Held on Sunday, September 20th

Kenny's artwork, influenced by figures such as the Surrealists of 1920s France and artists of 1960s American Pop Art, as well as various places, evolves with the times. He will be visiting on Sunday, September 20th, to host a workshop where participants can create original postcards. He is one of the most talked-about artists today.

The workshop will be held on Sunday, September 20th, for one hour each at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The participation fee is ¥1080, with a capacity of 7 people per session. Participants will choose their favorite postcard and create a message using up to six characters from the alphabet (A-Z) and symbols. This offers a unique experience of letterpress printing, where each character is hand-set and assembled into a form before printing.
